My role in school is to support children with their social and emotional wellbeing. I work 1:1 with children or in small groups. Some of the areas that I can help children with, are:

  • Anxiety,
  • Anger Management,
  • Self Esteem,
  • Bereavement,
  • Change (at school or outside)
  • Friendships

What the children say...

“Thank you for helping me shine.”

“Thank you for helping me with my friendships.”

“I’ve learned that if you’re worried about something, you can tell someone you trust.”

What the adults say...

“Since our child’s sessions, we have seen a dramatic improvement in their outlook. Thank you so much.”

“We’ve seen such a difference in how our child approaches homework and other situations they may find challenging. We cannot thank you enough. They are starting to see themselves as the amazing young person we’ve always seen.”

“Thank you for the amazing support and kindness you have shown my children.”

In addition, I help to signpost families to local information and support, be it for the local food bank, parenting courses or Special Educational Needs support for Social, Emotional and Mental Health, for example. If I don’t know the answer to your question, I know people who will!

I’m a trained ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) and Protective Behaviours Specialist. I have attended courses on Early Help for families, Domestic Abuse, Autism and ADHD.

I am very happy to meet face to face or speak on the telephone. I am generally available between 9.15am and 12 noon on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. If you would like to contact me outside of those hours, email me at catherine.allcott@longbuckbyjuniors.org.uk and I will get back in touch with you as soon as I am able to.
